My pledges for Fylde
I’m determined that Fylde shares fully in the benefits of a Labour government.
Getting Fylde building
- Supporting house building for local people, so everyone can get on the ladder in the place they call home.
- Helping national and local government attract developing industries to this area, making the most of our advantages to deliver more and better jobs.
- Getting potholes filled properly: holding the County Council to account for slow and shoddy repairs.
- Standing up for our local businesses – of all sizes – by campaigning for sensible regulation and taxation that supports stability and investment.
Getting Fylde’s NHS back on its feet
- Ensuring government tackles the growing waiting lists at Blackpool and Preston hospitals.
- Getting our share of new GP and community health services – and dentistry.
- Making the case for social care, so we support people in their own homes.
Opportunity for Fylde
- Championing apprenticeships. Supporting and celebrating employers who invest in their people.
- Attracting teachers to this fantastic part of the country – making sure our schools are fully staffed with great teachers.
- Supporting new childcare services, so every child gets a great start and every parent gets more opportunities.
Plugging Fylde into Great British Energy
- Making the case for Fylde’s skills and experience, so we reap the benefits of Labour’s energy plans, with more jobs in nuclear and clean energy.
- Working with government and developers to make sure that local clean power plans don’t disrupt and damage communities.
- Holding United Utilities to account for sewage pollution.
Taking back Fylde’s streets
- Getting our share of police investment, so we reverse the cuts made under 14 years of Tory mismanagement.
- Standing up for youth services in Fylde and Poulton, so our young people can get a great range of opportunities and activities.
Service before self. Country before party. Integrity always.
- I will always act with openness and transparency.
- You’ll know what I’m doing and why.
- No slush funds and no secrets.
